Going North Again

 May 21, 2023

Going first for a 2 hour pit stop at Andreas' place, then on north, past the curiously named 'Watergate Hotel' and the usual slew of businesses, then finally on country roads and eventually in mountain territory. A many, many miles long stretch has two types of businesses only: Car junkyards and stone masonry.

Today's original destination is the Honda Collection Hall near the race track Twin Ring Motegi, but calling the resort there for rooms and asking for rates, makes Axel say "Take 'em" and makes me squeal like a pig (re: 'Deliverance'). The prices are clearly aimed at The Dentists Association (Ferrari Chapter) going for trackdays, so I locate another really nice hotel at a quarter of the price.

Dinner, check out a strange tower, soak in the hotel's warm common bath, and take a pic in front of the visually loudest place in the seedy area behind our place.

Tiny old lady, at least 80, running a three pump gas station.

Hanging rock art next to the Tower of Trance (pictured below).

Good name for a cheap and decent hotel in Mito. First place we've stayed
that served free plum wine for arriving guests.

The area behind our hotel was packed with places like this.
